Introducing the Luftkappe air piston kit for:

  • Fox 34, 36 & 38
  • Rockshox Pike, Yari and Lyrik Solo Air forks
  • Rockshox Zeb / Domain

Taking everything we learned with the Corset air sleeves, the Luftkappe is a new air piston assembly that enlarges the negative air chamber to reduce the initial spring rate. This lets you run higher air pressure for more support in the middle and end of the stroke with improved sensitivity in the start of the stroke. User installable and simple to set up, the Luftkappe transforms a good fork into a great fork.

WARNING: VORSPRUNG products should be installed and serviced by a trained bicycle service technician, in accordance with both VORSPRUNG and original manufacturers' specifications. If you have any doubt whether or not you can properly service your suspension product, or you have not performed this kind of work before, then please DO NOT attempt it. Improperly serviced products can fail, causing the rider to lose control resulting in SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. That's not a joke. Don't mess around with it if you don't know what you're doing, because the best case scenario is usually that you damage something in the process. Do not perform any kind of service on your suspension whilst drunk, high or stupid. We accept no responsibility nor liability for component damage or failure of any description in the case of self-installed units.

Delivery

For spare parts, if they are in stock we will send them out the same day if we receive the order before midday (except weekends). If we receive the order after midday, we will do our best to despatch them same day, but it may be the following working day. Orders placed after 3pm on Friday will be despatched on the following Monday. We normally send spare parts by Royal Mail post (see below or our 'Shipping' page for cost/delivery times).

Forks, shocks and large/heavy orders go by courier. UK deliveries are with DPD Local, for overseas customers it's DPD, FedEx or DHL.  In all cases these are fully tracked services and you'll need to sign for the delivery - please provide a suitable address with extra instructions if necessary.

Returns

You may return your order unused, within 14 days for a refund if you no longer require it, provided it is returned with its original undamaged packaging and is unused and unmarked. Please note, we do not refund postage unless items were supplied in error or are faulty.

Picking mistakes do sometime happen. If we supply the wrong part or there are parts missing from your order please let us know within 14 days of receipt so that we can correct the mistake. In the case of picking errors we will refund your postage costs on the returned item.

Faulty goods will be replaced with the same item or a suitable equivalent, as appropriate.

TF Tuned cannot be held responsible for the non-receipt of returned goods so please ensure you use a tracked and/or insured service as appropriate to the value of the goods you are returning.

"Incredible upgrade for 2023 Lyrik! Struggled to get small bump sensitivity and mid stroke support before this upgrade. Performance is amazing! Added 10psi above standard as advised. Rode Llandegla black and Cut gate in peaks after upgrade and difference in performance is night and day, hammers through rock gardens unphased. Easy to fit for DIY mechanic if you buy shaft clamp etc as advised. "

"I was really disappointed, when the Debonair Pike fork I ordered (from a different source) turned up with a Solo Air spring in it, but excited because I knew that that meant I could do a Luftkappe upgrade. I have previously had a Luftkappe, in a 2017, 650b, 130mm Pike, so I knew how good it would ride. I had been riding the Solo Air spring in my 2018, 29", 150mm Pike for a couple of months, and just about got it to where I was happy, but once I fitted the new Luftkappe my fork was transformed. It is now far plusher off the top, so I get much less of a buzz in my hands and wrists, but it also absorbs the big hits really well (with 3 tokens fitted). The fork is fitted to my daily driver, which rocks everything from 25 mile round trip commuting, to most of the DH trails at Gawton, and everything in between. With the Solo Air spring, I found that I was not getting such a good range of useable compression damping, as well as a much harsher ride on chattery trails, like we have on Dartmoor. The new Luftkappe just makes the fork feel so much closer to the 2019, 180mm Lyrik that I have on my big rig. There is a good amount of mid-range support, so you don't feel that you're diving into corners, or sinking on landings from drops and jumps, but at the same time it is really supple off the top of the stroke. I guess the bottom line is that the Luftkappe spring is on par with, or possibly slightly better than, the latest Debonair offerings from Rockshox. If you have an older fork, and want it to feel like a newer one, get a Luftkappe spring fitted."

"Absolutely fantastic product! beautifully finished, easy to install and has transformed my forks. I now have superb small bump compliance, with fantastic mid stroke support and a nice end of stroke ramp up. All this without needing to run extra tokens etc. Which i always found improved mid and end of stroke support but at the sacrifice of sensitivity. Basically Rockshox have incorporated the Luftkappe into their new debonair 2018 forks (or looks it from where i sit) If you have a 2017 or earlier Pike this is the best upgrade £4£ you can make IMO"

"Hi, must say this really is an improvement ! I have Yari -16 boost fork with 150mm and had issue it running too deep or hard. Now its firm, but really like the small pump sensitivity/ability take hits in Enduro races. Also now that I can adjust pressure way I like it & adjust tokens (only one now) way I like, fork has good mid stroke support & sensitivity. + I put low friction seals in at same, so these together made my fork feel like top line coil fork compared to old stock Yari. "

"Does exactly what it says on the tin, which is a rarity these days. Easy enough to fit, if you follow the instruction video on vorsprung website. Heat the shaft with a heat gun or something before attempting to remove the bolt, otherwise you will chew it up, and you need to reuse it."

"Luftkappe was relatively easy to install. More air was required (for me above the recommended extra 10%). The biggest plus for me is the fantastic mid stroke support. Prior to the instal, my Yari fork was great at the little bumps, high speed rock gardens, etc, and ramped up at the end of the stroke (with a couple tokens) to reduce bottoming out but it always lacked the support for boosting off jumps or landing after small drops etc. Great improvement, very pleased."
