Chosing the right Sprindex

Selecting a Sprindex for your current coil shock

Consider which of the categories you fall into:

Your current coil seems a little too stiff and you are not quite getting full travel. Choose a Sprindex with the highest end of the range at or just below your current coil. For example, if your current coil is 450, choose about a 400-450 Sprindex.
Your current coil seems a little too soft and you occasionally bottom out. Choose a Sprindex with the lowest end of the range at or just above your current coil. For example, if your current coil is 450, choose about a 450-500 Sprindex.
Your current coil is way too stiff. Choose a Sprindex with the highest end of the range around 25 to 50 below your current coil. For example, if your current coil is 450, choose about a 350-400.
Your current coil is way too soft. Choose a Sprindex with the lowest end of the range around 25 to 50 above your current coil. For example, if your current coil is 450, choose about a 500-550.
Your current coil seems to be very close to your ideal for most riding conditions. Choose a Sprindex with the your current coil rate somewhere towards the middle of the Sprindex range.

Note that sometimes the rate marked on your current coil shock may be up to 5% or more off of reality. The only way to know for sure is to have the rate tested. As a point of comparison, you can use our spring calculator.

Spring calculators do not take into account your exact bike suspension, the way that you ride, body position, trails you ride, and so on. They can be a good guideline starting point.

Compatibility

There are three different Sprindex lengths and strokes available, and each Sprindex coil can be adjusted through a certain spring rate range. Be sure to use the correct included adapter as described. Make sure that the spring length fits on your shock and that your maximum shock travel is not more than the specified Sprindex coil travel.

Delivery

For spare parts, if they are in stock we will send them out the same day if we receive the order before midday (except weekends). If we receive the order after midday, we will do our best to despatch them same day, but it may be the following working day. Orders placed after 3pm on Friday will be despatched on the following Monday. We normally send spare parts by Royal Mail post (see below or our 'Shipping' page for cost/delivery times).

Forks, shocks and large/heavy orders go by courier. UK deliveries are with DPD Local, for overseas customers it's DPD, FedEx or DHL. In all cases these are fully tracked services and you'll need to sign for the delivery - please provide a suitable address with extra instructions if necessary.

Returns

You may return your order unused, within 14 days for a refund if you no longer require it, provided it is returned with its original undamaged packaging and is unused and unmarked. Please note, we do not refund postage unless items were supplied in error or are faulty.

Picking mistakes do sometime happen. If we supply the wrong part or there are parts missing from your order please let us know within 14 days of receipt so that we can correct the mistake. In the case of picking errors we will refund your postage costs on the returned item.

Faulty goods will be replaced with the same item or a suitable equivalent, as appropriate.

TF Tuned cannot be held responsible for the non-receipt of returned goods so please ensure you use a tracked and/or insured service as appropriate to the value of the goods you are returning.

"Bought for my norco range as the ride aligned set up recommended 480lb spring and its absolutely bang on! 30% sag straight away. Love how you can make small adjustments on the trail without taking the whole shock out. Worth every penny!"

"I bought a Santa Cruz nomad extra large frame and it came with a 450 spring, this was far too low for me at 92 kg. I then bought a 550 spring and it was far too hard! At this point I contacted TF tuned and spoke to the technical people and they recommended a 500-550 adjustable spring, and it's amazing! At bike park Wales I ride it at 550, and on the not so bigger hits I just it down to 525 to 530... I could not recommend TF tuned or the sprindex spring enough!"
